Hispanic/Migrant Education in the United States: A Call for Culturally Appropriate Methods
This project provides a History of the Hispanic population of Migrant workers children and the obstacles faced within the specific realm of education. It provides information on various educational programs, including: Binational, Bicultural and Educational Visions.
The paper is followed by various resources for Mexican children and culturally sensitive classroom activities for teachers. It provides insight into the obstacles faced in educating this migrant population, as well as addressing some solutions that teachers can use to help in doing so.
It can be used as a text to learn more about the issues facing the migrant children, or as a guide to solving some basic problems within our educational system. This duel approach provides good insight into both the problems and solutions.
